How do I manage teams on my platform?

To spice up your Scoreacast Business contest, and if your offer allows, you can use the team feature. This allows players to be grouped by country, region, city, cluster, product, service, etc. 


On Scorecast Business, teams are created by the administrator. Teams are given a name, and possibly an image. You can then change the number of players included in the team score.


Create a team

To create a team, you need to be logged in with your administrator account on your Scorecast Business contest website. 

  1. Click on Administrate and go to the Teams stab.
    • If you do not yet have a team, click on Create a team.
    • If you already have teams, click on New team.
  2. Enter the team name and initials (two letters). By default, the initials take the first letter of the words, but you can change them. A color is automatically linked to the team, but you can change it. You can also add an image (1000px / 1MO maximum). Note that if you insert an image, the initials and color are not displayed. 
  3. Click on Create to save the team. A new window will appear, allowing you to create a new team at a later date.

Modify a team

To edit a team, you need to be logged in with your administrator account on your Scorecast Business competition website. 

  1. Click on Administrate, then go to the Teams tab.
  2. Click on the desired team. 
  3. You can then modify the team name, initials, color and/or image. 
  4. Click on Save to save the team.


Deleting a team

To delete a team, you need to be logged in with your administrator account on your Scorecast Business contest website. 

  1. Click on Administrate, then go to the Teams tab.
  2. Click on the desired team. 
  3. Click on Delete, then in the next window, click again on Delete

If you delete a team containing players, the players will not return to the same team after the team has been deleted.


Number of players used to calculate team rankings

One number can be modified from the administration. This is the Number of players included in the team score. This number is used to define the scores of the first X players in each team, which are added together to form the team score. You can choose the number of players taken into account in this calculation to best suit your competition.


We advise you to take a number lower than the smallest number of players on a team, to give all the teams a chance of winning this ranking. 

For example, if you have three teams
- team A: 20 players
- team B: 8 players
- team C: 14 players

We recommend a number of 5 players to be used for calculating the team ranking, so that it can be played between the 5 best players in each team.

To change the number of players included in the team score, you need to be logged in with your administrator account on your Scorecast Business competition website. 

  1. Click on Administrate, then go to the Teams tab. You must have at least one team to modify this number. 
  2. Click on "-" or "+" to decrease or increase this number, or enter a new number in place of the number displayed (at the 10 as in the image below).
